What's the difference between a Primary and Secondary account?

Modified on Wed, 10 Dec at 2:12 PM

When a customer creates multiple Pathmonk accounts, the first account created is automatically labeled as Primary. Any additional accounts will be marked as Secondary.

This setup is common for agencies managing multiple clients, businesses with several branches, or websites that require different sets of microexperiences across multiple domains or subdirectories.

It’s important to note that this label does not give the Primary account any special status, it's just a purely technical naming. The system simply marks the first account as Primary so it can recognize the order in which accounts were created.

  • Both account types have the same features

  • They allow the same level of access

  • There are no limitations or restrictions associated with being Secondary

  • There is no difference in what you can do inside Pathmonk

Because of this, seeing an account marked as Secondary should never be a concern. It’s simply a system identifier and has no operational effect on your setup or your results.
