How to implement a qualification flow?

Modified on Thu, 30 Oct at 12:31 PM

Qualification flow (also referred to as a Product selector or Advanced lead generation form) is one of the most powerful methods to implement a conversion goal in Pathmonk. Instead of a static redirect or simple form, it guides visitors through a series of questions and answers, dynamically adapting the path based on their choices.

At the end of the flow, visitors can either:

  • Be redirected to a page – this could be a specific product page, a broader category page, or a landing page, depending on their responses.

  • Open a lead generation form – where additional details can be collected to qualify the lead more effectively.

This makes the Qualification Flow versatile for both lead generation and sales goals:

  • For lead generation: The questions before the lead form can capture valuable details such as company size, role, or budget. These details help qualify the lead for sales follow-up and improve overall lead quality.

  • For sales: The questions can help visitors refine their preferences — for example, type of product, specific characteristics, or usage scenarios. Based on these answers, the flow can guide them directly to the most relevant product or category page, reducing friction and increasing purchase likelihood.

Here's a full tutorial showing how to build a qualification flow:

How to create a qualification flow

1. Under Accelerate Growth go to your AI Configuration tab and click on your conversion goal (or create a new one if you want to set a secondary goal)

2. Select your conversion goal type.
You can create qualification flows under different goals:

  • Book a demo: use Pathmonk’s booking tool (opens a qualification flow)

  • Purchase: choose Sell Best Sellers using a Product Selector

  • Start trial: select Collect user details for trials

  • Collect leads: choose Collect leads (quiz)

  • Other goals: labeled as quiz, but they all function as qualification flows

In this example, we're going to create a qualification flow for e-commerce

Once you've selected it, go to the tab Tracking Method.

3. Set up your CTA and form.
Add your call-to-action and click on configure your booking form. This will take you to the Qualification flow page.

3. Choose a template or build your own flow

You can start from one of the predefined templates or create your flow from scratch.
We recommend starting with a template to understand the structure more easily.

Building the flow step by step

1. Edit the start node.
Upload your own image, add a header, and save your changes.

2. Add your first question.
For example:

  • What type of outfit are you looking for?

    • Wedding

    • Formal

    • Holiday
Each answer can take visitors to a different destination such as a product category, product page, or lead form.

3. Configure the end nodes.
By default, the end node shows a lead form, but you can change it to a redirect to send users to a specific page.
Example:

  • Holiday → redirects to the party dresses category page

  • Formal → redirects to a specific product page

4. Add a lead form (optional).
Instead of redirecting, you can show a lead form to collect user details. Add fields such as name, surname, email, phone number, or free text for messages.
You can also customize:

  • The button text

  • The thank-you message

  • A redirect URL (e.g., a thank-you or offer page)

Benefits of implementing a qualification flows

  • Reduce choice overload for your visitors

  • Increase the number of qualified leads

  • Improve conversion rates by guiding users to the right destination
