Tips to maximize the include and exclude page feature
While excluding and excluding pages can seem like an easy decision, there can be more to the decision for some websites.
The feature to add or exclude pages is available to give each client more control over where Pathmonk micro-experiences will be visible to ensure the best experience for website visitors. Generally, the more places Pathmonk micro-experiences are shown, the better the conversion results will be. In the end, the decision will be determined by each account's unique circumstances.
Here are some items to consider when deciding on pages to include or exclude.
- Decide whether more pages will show or hide micro experiences. This will decide whether the setting is to include all pages and the list created will be exclusions or to only include specific pages, which will make the list an inclusion list.
- Begin with pages that could benefit from the additional information the micro-experiences provide. Most clients will choose to allow micro-experiences on all pages and select a small number of pages to exclude. Think about how the micro-experiences will add to the visitor's experience, providing additional value and opportunity to easily reach the conversion goal.
- Common pages to include in the Pathmonk micro-experiences:
- Product or service description pages
- Home page
- Blog posts (use the core micro-experiences for pages that have a large click-through rate or entrance rate and the Products & Services micro-experiences for more targeted results)
- Pages with high view rates that do not have conversion options included
- Common pages to exclude from Pathmonk micro-experiences:
- Contact pages, if they already have an easily accessible contact form
- Careers pages
- Pages with booking links or calendars
- Thank you Pages (these should be tracked using the URL tracking goal
